How many brackets are included?

The product includes two matching L-brackets—one for each side of the sliding gate.

What are these brackets used for?

What are the brackets made from?

Each bracket is fabricated from 5052-H32 aluminum with a 0.250″, or 1/4″, material thickness.

Will these brackets work with every gate operator?

What are the main bracket dimensions?

The long leg is 8″, the return leg is 3″, the bracket is 2.75″ wide, and the material is 1/4″ thick.

What size are the round mounting holes?

Each bracket has four 0.375″, or 3/8″, round holes.

What is the elongated slot used for?

The 3.5″ long by 0.5″ wide slot provides an adjustable connection area for compatible chain hardware.

Are mounting bolts or chain hardware included?

No. The set includes the two brackets only. Mounting fasteners, chain hardware, the drive chain, and the gate operator are sold separately.

Where should the brackets be installed?

Install one bracket at each side of the sliding gate in locations that maintain proper chain alignment and do not interfere with wheels, guides, stops, posts, or the operator.

How should the chain be aligned?

Align the chain with the operator sprocket and keep the connection path straight according to the gate-operator manufacturer’s instructions.

Should I tighten the chain as much as possible?

No. Set chain tension according to the operator manufacturer’s instructions. Excessive tension can increase wear or place unnecessary loads on the operator and gate components.

What should be tested after installation?

Move the gate through its complete open and closed travel and check chain alignment, tension, bracket clearance, fastener tightness, guide operation, wheel tracking, and stop positions.

Can the brackets be used outdoors?

Yes. 5052-H32 aluminum and the powder-coated finish are suitable for outdoor use when the complete assembly is properly designed, installed, and maintained.

What maintenance is recommended?

Periodically inspect the brackets, fasteners, slot connection, chain attachment, chain tension, finish, and surrounding gate hardware. Correct loose or damaged components before operating the gate.
