01 / FIND YOUR LOOK

Compare six aluminum fence styles

Start with the amount of privacy you want, then look at slat width and spacing. Select a style photo or its project button to see completed projects with that style already selected.

PRIVACY • BROAD SLATS

Close-set 5.5-inch horizontal slats create the most continuous look in this collection. Choose New York when visual screening and clean, uninterrupted lines come first.
Good for: Backyard boundaries, private patios and matching gates.

SEMI-PRIVACY • BROAD SLATS

Broad 5.5-inch slats with 1/2-inch spacers create an even horizontal pattern. The gaps let light through while the wide slats give the fence a substantial appearance.
Good for: Front yards, side yards and a balanced modern look.

OPEN FEEL • NARROW SLATS

Slim 1-inch horizontal slats and 1/2-inch spacers create a fine, repeating pattern. More frequent openings give this design a lighter feel than broad-slat layouts.
Good for: Entryways, garden boundaries and spaces where you want more visibility.

MIXED WIDTHS • ACCENT TOP

Broad 5.5-inch slats form the lower portion, with a band of 1-inch slats above. Spacers add separation and the narrow upper section creates a distinctive finishing detail.
Good for: A grounded lower section with a lighter-looking top.

MIXED WIDTHS • REPEATING ACCENTS

A repeating mix of 5.5-inch and 1-inch slats, separated by 1/2-inch spacers, adds rhythm across the panel. Choose Miami for a more expressive horizontal fence design.
Good for: Coordinated fences and gates with a patterned architectural look.

MIXED WIDTHS • NARROW-SLAT BANDS

Broad 5.5-inch slats alternate with groups of four 1-inch slats, using 1/2-inch spacers. The repeated narrow-slat bands create a detailed, open horizontal pattern.
Good for: A statement pattern for custom layouts and selected railing applications.
These are design families, not city service areas. Slat counts and arrangements can vary with height and product type; check the selected kit’s drawings and included components before ordering.

02 / CHOOSE HOW OPEN IT FEELS

Privacy, light, and the view beyond

More privacy

Start with New York’s close-set layout. Broad slats form a continuous visual surface for spaces where screening matters most. Check perimeter clearances and the specific kit layout.

A balanced view

Los Angeles uses broad slats with deliberate gaps. Dallas and Miami add narrow accents. These layouts give some screening while leaving visible openings for light.

A more open feel

San Francisco’s narrow slats and Las Vegas’s repeated narrow-slat bands create more frequent openings. Compare real project photos from both sides before choosing.

03 / THE FINISHING TOUCH

Aluminum fence colors

A finish changes the whole impression. Match your window frames, exterior trim or landscape palette, then see the color on a completed project. These swatches are approximate; screens and lighting change how a finish looks.
A crisp outline for modern architecture.
A warm, dark tone alongside stone and earth colors.
A bright finish that echoes light trim.
A softer dark neutral for contemporary exteriors.
A lighter neutral with a subtle presence.
Looking for a wood-look finish or another color? Selected kits list a Wood option. Ask us about finish availability and samples for your chosen kit. Color availability depends on the product and configuration.

BEFORE YOU CHOOSE

Aluminum fence design questions

New York is the closest-set design in this collection, using broad slats without the separate spacers found in the open styles. It is a good starting point when privacy is your priority. Confirm the selected kit’s layout and the clearances around posts, edges and gates.
Both use broad horizontal slats. Los Angeles uses 1/2-inch spacers to create visible gaps; New York uses a close-set layout with no separate spacers. Choose between a more open appearance and a more continuous visual screen.
All three combine broad 5.5-inch slats and narrow 1-inch slats. Dallas concentrates the narrow slats near the top; Miami repeats narrow accents through the layout; Las Vegas alternates broad slats with groups of four narrow slats. Compare the project photos and the chosen product’s layout.
Yes. Several Alumission design families are offered across fence, single swing gate, double swing gate, wall topper and between-columns kits. Availability varies by product type. Use the kit links above to confirm your preferred style, height and finish.
These are kits of components for assembly, not a promise of a factory-assembled fence or gate. Review the selected product’s included-parts list, dimensions, mounting options and installation instructions. Ask our team if your opening needs a custom arrangement.
Custom arrangements are possible with Alumission profiles and components. Changing spacing or slat widths can change the quantities and parts you need. Share your dimensions and a sketch with us so the layout and compatible components can be checked before ordering.
Compare the finish with your home’s trim, windows, hardscape and landscaping. Black, Bronze, White, Dark Grey and Light Gray appear in the project gallery; selected products also list Wood. Check the exact product’s options and ask about samples, since screen swatches are approximate.
Select any style photo or View Projects button in this guide. The Projects page opens with that style selected. You can then adjust the project type, style and color filters to explore more examples.
