Built for Everyday Use
Choose the privacy you want
Screen the passage beside your home with a closely spaced design, or keep more light and visibility with open horizontal slats. Compare the product photos and slat pattern before choosing; privacy varies by style and viewing angle.
Spend less time on upkeep
Powder-coated aluminum gives your entrance a finished look without wood boards to stain or replace. Keep it looking its best with periodic cleaning, and check the hinges and latch as part of normal gate care.
What comes with your gate kit?
Your single swing kit includes
- Aluminum slats, gate-frame profiles & side posts
- Adjustable hinges & a keyed entry lever
- Assembly screws, caps, covers & finishing components
Quantities and lengths vary by style and size. Review the selected kit’s packing list before ordering.
You provide
- Measuring, cutting, drilling & leveling tools
- Anchors suited to your mounting surface
- Site preparation & installation labor
Matching fixed side panels are sold separately. Double swing kits have a separate component list and fitting plan.
Measure once. Choose your kit with confidence.
1. Measure the finished opening
Measure between the finished mounting surfaces at the top, middle and bottom. Record all three widths in inches, your desired height and whether the sides are plumb. Use the smallest width when discussing fit with us.
Example: For a 45″-wide opening, the Los Angeles kit’s sizing guidance points to the 4′-wide option. Check your required height, post positions and installation guide before ordering or cutting.
2. Check the swing and access
Allow room for the gate to open clear of walls, steps, slopes and landscaping. Think about the widest item you move through the passage. A double gate still needs clear swing space for each leaf.
3. Choose style, size and finish
Choose a style above, then select your size and finish on its product page. Review the included components, current price and delivery details before checkout.
4. Prepare, cut and assemble
Review the installation guide before cutting or drilling. Common tools include a tape measure, level, drill and a saw with a blade suitable for aluminum. Confirm mounting and cut dimensions for your exact kit.

Which side yard gate fits your opening?
Start with how you use the passage. One leaf suits a walking entrance; two leaves can open up a wider side yard. Check the swing space as well as the opening width.
Single swing: everyday access
For the path between your house and fence, garden access, or a backyard entrance. One gate leaf opens from one side.
Size choices: 4′, 5′ or 6′ maximum opening widths, paired with 4′, 5′ or 6′ heights. Components are cut to fit within the selected kit’s limits.
Double swing: wider side yards
For wider passages where you need room to move bins, a mower or larger equipment. Two gate leaves meet in the center.
Catalog sizes: 7′, 9′, 11′ or 13′ widths, with 4′, 5′ or 6′ heights. Confirm post positions and the cut plan for both leaves.
Need a fixed section beside the gate? Add a matching aluminum side panel kit. Fixed panels are sold separately.

Side yard gate kit questions
Can both single and double swing kits be used as side yard gates?
Yes. A single swing kit suits a walking entrance when one leaf fits the opening and has room to swing. A double swing kit can suit a wider side-yard opening. Measure the opening and check the swing clearance for each leaf before choosing.
How do I choose the right side gate size?
Single swing kits offer 4′, 5′ and 6′ maximum opening widths, with 4′, 5′ and 6′ heights. Double swing kits list 7′, 9′, 11′ and 13′ widths with the same height choices. These are kit options, not ready-built leaf measurements. Check the product guide and confirm your finished opening before ordering or cutting.
Which style should I choose for a privacy side gate?
New York Style has closely arranged 5.5″ horizontal slats for a more closed appearance. Los Angeles has broad slats with gaps, while San Francisco uses slim slats for a more open look. Miami and Dallas combine broad and narrow slats. Review the actual pattern and project photos to choose the privacy level you need.
Does the gate arrive assembled?
No. The kit arrives as components for on-site fitting and assembly. No welding is required, but measuring, cutting, drilling and secure mounting are part of the installation. Review the guide first or arrange installation with a suitable professional.
Are hinges, a lock and side panels included?
The gate kits include hinges, a keyed entry lever, aluminum side posts and assembly hardware. Double swing kits also include a cane bolt. Check the selected product’s component list for exact quantities. Fixed side panels are not included and can be ordered separately.
Can I mount the gate to an existing wall or fence post?
The mounting surface must be sound and suitable for the gate loads. The right anchors and supports depend on the wall or post material and the site. Send Alumission photos and measurements if you need help planning the connection; do not assume a thin fence panel can support a gate.
How much does an aluminum side yard gate kit cost?
Single swing kits currently start at $1,430. Your exact price depends on the size and finish you select. Free shipping applies to eligible U.S. destinations; Oʻahu is excluded. Confirm destination eligibility and the final order total at checkout. Budget separately for tools, site preparation and installation labor.
What should I know about delivery and returns?
Confirm production and transit timing for your selected finish and delivery address before ordering. Eligible standard kits may be returned within 30 days of delivery when unused, uninstalled and unmodified. Customers pay normal return shipping; eligible retail returns have no restocking fee. Do not cut or drill material you intend to return.
