WHAT’S INCLUDED:

New York Style aluminum driveway gate kit

Build a two-leaf aluminum driveway gate with a close-set horizontal pattern made with broad 5.5-inch aluminum slats. This cut-to-fit double swing gate kit is supplied as components for on-site assembly. Select the complete gate width, height and finish above to see the current configuration and price.

Why choose the New York design?

The close-set broad-slat design gives the entrance a more continuous visual surface than the open-spacer styles. New York’s close-set arrangement is style specific. Confirm the installed slat layout and final cuts for both leaves before assembly. See the product images for the style and finish; the final appearance depends on the selected size, color and installation.

What comes with both gate leaves?

  • Gate structure: two aluminum side posts, four aluminum gate-frame profiles, four matching slide-on frame covers, two post covers and one gate-frame stopper. Supplied profile stock lengths follow the selected gate height.
  • Top and end pieces: four side-post caps and eight gate-frame caps.
  • Operating hardware: four 4-inch adjustable self-closing hinges, one Schlage keyed entry lever and one 12-inch heavy-duty cane bolt.
  • Assembly fasteners: two packs of 100 #8 × 1/2-inch stainless-steel pan-head self-drilling screws.
  • New York infill: 5.5-inch slats: 18, 22 or 26 for the 4-, 5- or 6-foot heights. The supplied schedule lists no separate spacer pack. These quantities cover the complete two-leaf kit; final cut lengths depend on the selected size and installation.

Slats and Spacers for Each Size

Choose the right driveway gate size

Available complete-gate width options are 7′, 9′, 11′ and 13′; heights are 4′, 5′ and 6′. The width selection describes the two-leaf gate option, not the width of each leaf. Measure the finished opening, confirm post placement and swing clearance, and select a size that suits your installation. The aluminum slats are supplied as stock lengths of 3′, 4′, 5′ or 6′ for the 7′, 9′, 11′ or 13′ width options respectively. These are not final cut dimensions. Use the Technical Specifications tab for the full size and component schedule.

Finish, assembly and what to plan separately

Choose Black, Bronze, White, Dark Grey, Light Gray or Wood in the selector above. Wood is a wood-look finish on aluminum. The gate arrives as components; cutting, assembly and installation are required. The supplied single-leaf installation illustrations show shared assembly steps, but a double swing gate needs a separate plan for both leaves and their center meeting point. Confirm mounting, clearances, final cuts and local requirements before drilling or cutting. Site-specific supports, concrete, electrical work, a gate operator and installation labor are not listed in the supplied kit schedule; plan those separately if your project needs them.

Shipping and delivery

Estimated delivery: 2–8 business days for every available finish, including Wood. Shipping is available within the United States, excluding Hawaii. Delivery timing is an estimate; choose the color and size above for the live product price.

Single-Leaf Assembly Reference for Double Swing Kits

These four pages illustrate assembly of one swing leaf and its side posts. A double swing driveway gate has two leaves with a center meeting point, cane bolt and latch details that are not covered by these illustrations. Use them as a reference for shared components only. Do not apply the illustrated single-leaf slat cut rule to the full driveway opening. Confirm the cut dimensions for both leaves before cutting. Click a page to view it at full size.

New York Double Swing Gate Questions & Answers

Plan your driveway entrance with clear answers about the style, fit, kit contents, installation and everyday care.

Style & Finishes

New York uses close-set 5.5-inch horizontal aluminum slats for a more continuous, broad-slat appearance. No separate spacer pack is listed for this kit.

New York has the most closed-looking broad-slat arrangement of these five kits. Los Angeles separates broad slats with half-inch spacers, Dallas and Miami combine broad and narrow slats, and San Francisco uses narrow slats.

The close-set slats provide a more closed appearance than the open-spacer styles. The finished gate still needs installation clearances at the center, hinges and ground; it is not a sealed panel.

The selector lists Black, Bronze, White, Dark Grey, Light Gray and Wood. Wood is a decorative wood-look finish on aluminum, not timber. Compare the product photos before selecting a finish, and confirm your chosen size and color for the current price.

Kit & Installation

It arrives as components for two gate leaves, requiring cutting, assembly and installation. The schedule lists aluminum frames, slats and side posts, matching covers and caps, four adjustable self-closing hinges, a Schlage keyed entry lever, a cane bolt, a stopper and assembly screws. Slat and spacer quantities vary by style and height; use Product Details for the complete schedule.

Site-specific supports, concrete, electrical work, a gate operator and installation labor are not listed in the kit schedule. Plan these separately where needed. The included aluminum side-post profiles do not replace checking that the supporting structure and anchors are suitable for the complete installation.

The kit is intended for field assembly by someone comfortable measuring, cutting aluminum, drilling and fitting gate hardware. Plan for a tape measure, level, drill, suitable bits and a miter saw with an aluminum-cutting blade; mounting tools depend on the support material. Get installation help if you are unsure about anchoring, alignment or handling the gate leaves.

Use the illustrated guide in Technical Specifications only as a reference for shared components. A double swing gate needs a separate cut plan for both leaves and their center meeting point. Do not apply a single-leaf opening-minus-8-inch rule to the full driveway opening. Confirm both leaf dimensions before cutting.

Sizing & Planning

Yes. The 7′, 9′, 11′ and 13′ selections describe the complete two-leaf gate option, not each leaf. The available heights are 4′, 5′ and 6′. Supplied stock lengths are not final cut dimensions; confirm the installed opening and the cut plan for both leaves before ordering or cutting.

Measure the finished opening at several heights, record the support positions and ground levels, and check the full opening path of each leaf. Allow for the specified hinges, center meeting gap, latch and ground clearance. Send Alumission your measurements and photos if the correct kit size or mounting arrangement is unclear.

Each leaf needs a clear arc from its hinge to the required open position. Check parked cars, walls, landscaping and changes in driveway level throughout that arc. Two shorter leaves can need less depth than one full-width leaf, but the exact space depends on the finished leaf widths, hinge positions and opening angle.

Check the ground under the entire swing path, not just where the gate closes. Rising ground can stop a leaf from opening. Have the slope and mounting layout reviewed before ordering; a different gate arrangement may suit the site better. Do not assume extra ground clearance alone will solve every slope.

Automation & Care

Discuss automation with Alumission and a qualified gate installer before buying an operator. Compatibility depends on each leaf’s finished size and weight, the slat pattern, wind exposure, supports and operator mounting. The kit does not include a motor. The installer must also plan the required safety devices and access controls for the complete system.

The keyed lever controls the latching point, while the cane bolt secures one leaf in its closed position as planned in the installation. Confirm which leaf is used most often and how both leaves meet before drilling. For an automated gate, have the installer specify a compatible locking and stopping arrangement.

Wash the aluminum with mild soap, water and a soft cloth, then rinse. Avoid abrasive pads and harsh chemicals that can damage the finish. Periodically check the hinges, latch, cane bolt and fasteners for alignment or looseness, and follow the hardware maker’s maintenance instructions. Keep the swing path clear.

Confirm the style, finish, total width, height, support structure, slope, swing clearance and any automation plans. Check local permit or HOA requirements for your property. Select the size and finish for the current price, and review delivery information and the return policy before ordering. For help, contact Alumission with photos and measurements.
