Aluminum Stopper For Side Post

0 (0) Reviews

A slide-in receiving-post stopper for Alumission single swing gates. It fits the channel of a Side Post, Post 2 Channels, or Post 3 Channel on the latch side and should match the receiving post length.

Price range: $28.94 through $46.05

The Aluminum Stopper For Side Post is the dedicated receiving-post stopper for Alumission single swing gates. It slides into the open channel of the stationary post on the latch side and creates a defined surface where the gate closes.

The same stopper can be used with Alumission posts that have the matching channel, including the Aluminum Side Post, Aluminum Post 2 Channels, and Aluminum Post 3 Channel. Choose the receiving-post profile that fits the gate opening and slide the stopper into the channel facing the gate.

This stopper is for single swing gates only. It belongs in the post beside the latch edge of the gate. It does not attach to the moving gate frame and is not the center stopper used between two leaves of a double swing gate.

The finished stopper length should match the Side Post or other receiving post beside the gate. Matching the full post length creates a continuous closing edge and a clean powder-coated appearance.

Single Swing Gate Receiving Stop

Slides Into the Stationary Post on the Latch Side

The stopper stays with the post beside the gate and provides the finished surface that receives the closing gate leaf.

Latch-Side Location

Install it in the post channel beside the latch edge of the single swing gate.

Stationary Post

The stopper slides into the fixed receiving post; it does not move with the gate leaf.

Defined Closing Edge

The formed profile creates a continuous surface where the gate closes and the latch condition is completed.

Single Gates Only

Use this product for one-leaf swing gates, not for the center meeting edge of a double swing gate.

Three Compatible Receiving Posts

Fits Alumission Posts With the Matching Channel

Use the same slide-in stopper with the compatible post profile selected for the gate opening.

Aluminum Side Post

Slide the stopper into the Side Post channel facing the latch edge of the gate.

Post 2 Channels

Use the compatible channel that faces the gate opening and leave the other channel configured for the surrounding fence or frame.

Post 3 Channel

Choose the channel facing the single gate and slide the stopper into the matching interface.

Channel Alignment

Confirm the stopper is fully engaged, straight, and oriented toward the gate before completing the latch installation.

Full-Length Finished Edge

Match the Stopper to the Receiving Post

A matching finished length gives the latch side a consistent stop from the top to the bottom of the gate opening.

Same Finished Length

Order or cut the stopper to the same finished length as the Side Post or other receiving post beside the gate.

Slide From the End

Engage the stopper with the channel at an accessible post end and slide it into position before the end is blocked.

Cut and Deburr

Use suitable aluminum-cutting equipment and deburr the cut end before sliding the profile into the post.

Check the Gate

Verify gate travel, stopper contact, latch alignment, gaps, and safe clearances before placing the gate in service.

Questions & Answers

Aluminum Stopper For Side Post Questions & Answers

Answers about single-gate use, receiving-post compatibility, latch-side placement, slide-in installation, matching post length, dimensions, ordering, and care.

Purpose & Gate Compatibility

What is the Aluminum Stopper For Side Post used for?

It creates the receiving stop for an Alumission single swing gate. The stopper slides into the channel of the stationary post beside the latch edge.

Can it be used on a single swing gate?

Yes. This stopper is specifically designed for single swing gates.

Can it be used on a double swing gate?

No. A double swing gate uses the Aluminum Stopper For Gate Frame at the center meeting edge of the two gate leaves.

Does the stopper attach to the moving gate?

No. It installs in the stationary receiving post beside the gate, not on the moving gate frame.

Which side of the gate opening receives the stopper?

Install it in the receiving post on the latch side, where the single swing gate closes.

Does the stopper replace the latch or lock?

No. It creates the closing surface. The compatible latch, lock, strike, and other gate hardware are selected separately.

Compatible Receiving Posts

Can it be used with the Aluminum Side Post?

Yes. Slide it into the Side Post channel that faces the latch edge of the gate.

Can it be used with the Aluminum Post 2 Channels?

Yes. Use the compatible channel facing the single-gate opening.

Can it be used with the Aluminum Post 3 Channel?

Yes. Select the channel facing the gate and slide the stopper into the matching interface.

Can it slide into any Alumission post channel?

It can be used with the matching channels in the Side Post, Post 2 Channels, and Post 3 Channel. Confirm that the selected channel and post orientation match the installation drawing before assembly.

Which post channel should face the gate?

Use the channel that directly faces the latch edge of the single swing gate so the stopper creates the receiving surface.

Can the remaining post channels still be used?

Yes. On multi-channel posts, the other channels can be configured for compatible fence panels, covers, or other planned system components.

Installation & Finished Length

How is the stopper installed?

Engage it with the matching channel at an accessible post end and slide it into the receiving post.

Should it be installed before the post end is blocked?

Yes. Plan the assembly so the stopper can slide in from an accessible end before a cap, structure, or other component blocks the channel.

How long should the stopper be?

Its finished length should match the Side Post or other receiving-post length beside the gate.

Can the stopper be cut to length?

Yes. Cut it with suitable aluminum-cutting equipment, measure carefully, and deburr the cut end before installation.

Should the stopper be fastened to the gate frame?

No. This model slides into the receiving-post channel. Use the separate Aluminum Stopper For Gate Frame when a stopper must attach directly to a gate frame.

What should be checked after installation?

Verify the stopper is fully engaged and straight, then check the complete gate travel, contact surface, latch alignment, gaps, and safe hand clearances.

Dimensions, Ordering & Care

The drawing shows a 0.408″ upper section height, 0.331″ channel engagement height, 0.750″ exposed vertical leg, and 0.070″ profile thickness.

What is included with this product?

The product includes one Aluminum Stopper For Side Post in the selected length and powder-coated finish.

Is the receiving post included?

No. The Side Post, Post 2 Channels, Post 3 Channel, gate components, and installation hardware are sold separately.

The online length options are 6′ and 8′.

Is a 10′ length available?

Yes. The 10′ length is available by phone order only. It cannot be purchased online, and shipping charges may apply.

What colors are available?

Available finishes are Black, Bronze, White, Dark Grey, and Light Gray.

Will a cut edge rust?

No. Aluminum does not rust like steel.

Clean with mild soap and water using a soft cloth or sponge. Avoid abrasive pads, harsh chemicals, and strong solvents.
