U-Shaped Receiver
The open-front design allows the gate edge to enter the catcher as the gate reaches the closed position.
The Aluminum Sliding Gate Catcher with Protective Foam provides a protected receiving point for the leading edge of a sliding gate when it reaches the fully closed position. Its U-shaped form helps guide and capture the gate at the end of travel while supporting a clean, finished installation.
Fabricated from 6061-T6 aluminum, the catcher can be mounted to a dedicated end post, a concrete column, or another structurally suitable surface using the correct screws, anchors, or bolts for that mounting material. The inside opening accepts sliding gates up to 2″ thick.
A 1/4″ self-adhesive foam liner is included and installs inside the catcher after the metal body is secured. The foam cushions the gate as it closes and helps protect the powder-coated gate surface from direct metal contact and scratching. Black, Bronze, and Dark Gray catchers include black foam; White and Light Gray catchers include white foam.
Installed at the gate’s fully closed position, the catcher provides a defined receiving point for the leading edge of the gate.
The open-front design allows the gate edge to enter the catcher as the gate reaches the closed position.
The catcher is designed to receive sliding-gate frames or gate edges measuring up to 2″ thick.
Correct placement helps keep the closed gate aligned with its intended stopping and receiving point.
Use with compatible sliding-gate systems after confirming final stop position, operator limits, and required clearances.
The catcher is fabricated from 6061-T6 aluminum and powder coated to coordinate with Alumission gates and hardware.
6061-T6 aluminum provides dependable strength and corrosion resistance for outdoor gate installations.
Five available colors coordinate with Alumission aluminum gate frames, posts, and profiles.
The aluminum body will not rust like unprotected steel hardware.
Install on a suitable post, concrete column, masonry surface, or other structural support using application-rated hardware.
Install the included self-adhesive foam inside the catcher after the aluminum body is securely mounted and aligned.
The foam creates a cushioned contact surface between the gate and the aluminum catcher.
The liner helps prevent direct metal-to-metal contact that can mark or scratch the gate finish.
Black, Bronze, and Dark Gray finishes are supplied with black foam.
White and Light Gray finishes are supplied with white foam for a cleaner coordinated appearance.
Set the final closed position first, then fasten the catcher with hardware appropriate for the mounting surface.
Position the catcher so the gate enters the opening squarely without binding or side loading.
Use screws, bolts, or masonry anchors rated for the post, concrete, column, or structural surface.
Secure and test the metal catcher before applying the self-adhesive foam liner.
Cycle the gate through fully open and closed positions and verify smooth entry, clearances, stops, and operator limits.
Included: One 6061-T6 aluminum sliding gate catcher in the selected powder-coated finish and one 1/4″ self-adhesive protective foam liner in the corresponding black or white color.
Sold separately: Mounting screws, bolts, concrete or masonry anchors, dedicated mounting post, gate operator, gate stops, and installation tools.
Review the dimensional drawing and confirmed material, capacity, finish, foam, and mounting information below when planning the sliding-gate catcher installation.
Confirm the gate’s final closed position, thickness, alignment, operator limits, and clearances before drilling. Install the catcher with hardware appropriate for the mounting surface, test the gate through its full travel, and apply the foam only after the catcher is securely mounted and aligned.
Answers about gate thickness, mounting surfaces, protective foam, available colors, installation, and maintenance.
It provides a protected receiving point for the leading edge of a sliding gate when the gate reaches the fully closed position.
The catcher is fabricated from 6061-T6 aluminum and finished with an exterior-grade powder coating.
The opening is designed to receive sliding gates up to 2″ thick. Confirm the finished gate thickness and required clearance before ordering.
Yes, when properly positioned with the operator limits, gate stops, and clearances. The catcher is a receiving component and does not replace the operator’s required safety devices or mechanical stops.
Choose Black, Bronze, White, Dark Grey, or Light Gray.
Yes. One 1/4″ self-adhesive foam liner is included with the catcher.
The foam cushions contact and helps protect the gate’s powder-coated finish from direct metal contact and scratching.
Black, Bronze, and Dark Gray catchers include black foam. White and Light Gray catchers include white foam.
Mount and align the aluminum catcher first. Clean and dry the inside contact surface, then apply the foam after the catcher is secure and the gate has been test-fitted.
It can mount to a dedicated end post, concrete column, masonry surface, or another structurally suitable surface.
No. Choose screws, bolts, or anchors appropriate for the mounting material, gate system, and expected loads.
Place it at the fully closed position so the gate enters the U-shaped opening squarely without binding, rubbing excessively, or placing side load on the gate.
Cycle the gate through its complete travel and verify smooth entry into the catcher, foam contact, clearances, fastener tightness, mechanical stops, and operator limits.
Periodically inspect the catcher, fasteners, foam adhesion, foam wear, gate alignment, and finish. Replace worn foam and correct loose or damaged components before operating the gate.
